A Book I’d Like to Read
What Money Can’t Buy: The Moral Limits of Markets by Michael Sandel.
”Stand in line overnight on Capitol Hill to hold a place for a lobbyist who wants to attend a congressional hearing: $15-$20 per hour. The lobbyists pay line-standing companies, who hire homeless people and others to queue up.”
I’ve never been interested in a political philosopher before, or books on politics in general, and have been successful in ignoring many debates on today’s markets and economic state (despite working for an organization known for its economic indicators and market analyses) but I’m more than a little slightly intrigued by ol’ Mike and his book.
